AMSTERDAM
Catching up on old images and realized I never posted my layover in Amsterdam. I used a milage reward ticket to Paris for Thanksgiving and had a 5 hour layover in Amsterdam. When factoring out the train ride to the city I had a little less than 3 hours in the city but enough to whet my appetite. Somehow in all my travels I had never been there and now I can’t wait to plan a real trip back....

Communication Arts
While I tend to stay away from work items on my blog, I think it’s so cool that Communication Arts recognized our campaign as one of the years best. I shot all these and about 100 more(except the guys in the mud masks). Thanks to the great creatives, clients and crew who worked on all these shots.
PARIS D'chez Eux
Trying to get caught up after an insane last quarter on the road. For thanksgiving my wife, son and I took off for Paris for a short week and a chance to get away. While Paris is full of amazing restaurants and not so amazing restaurants(Frenchie comes to mind, come on Anthony Bourdain, really?)
We choose out favorite neighborhood restaurant to celebrate thanksgiving and for about the 10th time...

HOT AIR BALLOONING LUXOR
Hot air ballooning seems so iconic to me and Iv’e always wanted to experience it. Getting to try it in Luxor Egypt made it even better. Other than having to wake up at 5 in the morning the entire process of watching the workers set up the balloons for take off is quite surreal! All the hustle and bustle is very exciting and then...

HAGIA SOPHIA
Recommending Hagia Soghia in Istanbul is like recommending the Louvre in Paris but it as absolutely a must see. It was built as a christian church, converted in to a mosque and is now a museum.
KUMKAPI FISH MARKET
I have an absolute obsession with fish markets. If a city has one I will be there before sunrise to see what’s going on. Istanbul was no exception and I...

LETTERPRESS
PETER KRUTY EDITIONS
After spending most of the winter working on my letterhead and overall branding I was looking for a letterpress artist and my friend Michelle Wells recommended Peter Kurty and his wife Sayre. After being totally blown away by their work and studio space I jokingly asked if he ever gave workshops and he offered to have a weekend workshop for just me and my assistant Pat. I...

STAMPEDE GO KARTING
One of the most fun nights I have ever had in my life happened here. Nearly impossible to find(in the basement of a closed mall) is the largest go cart track in Asia and a ……BAR! Thats right,...

BALI SCULPTURE WHOLESALER
Stumbling around Seminyak in the rain a came across a wholesaler of metal sculptures. I took a few quick scout pictures planning to come back and shoot it the next day. The next day happened to be Sunday and they were closed. So disappointed as the place was amazing. No idea of the name but it’s just a block south of the Bintang shopping center and across the...

ANDROUET
Cheese is one of the things I most crave in France. This time out I researched and found a little shop in the Rive Gauche that did not disappoint. Androuet is an amazing place to stop and grab a few varieties of cheese, a bottle of wine and go across the street for fresh baguettes. Then off to Jardin Luxembourg or the Tulleries for a picnic.
